Britain is represented in 'The Belles of St. Trinians' and 'Passport to Pimlico' through use of iconography when conveying typical British culture. This can be seen specifically in the opening scene of 'Passport to Pimlico', sun and beachside activities are taking place only to have the shot pan down displaying a roof of a fish shop. A simialr use of this juxtaposition of is seen in the final moments of the movie when Burgundy is announced as part of Britain once again, only for the sunshine to vanish and having the rain commence.
A scene which identifies the British stereotype of men in a specific trade is where two bomb removal/minors are discussing public affairs when a police officer informs them of a change in the work. Their speech is exaggerated and complies to the stereotype of 'cockney lingo'. The use of language is also effectivly used within st. trinians when the girls mention crumpets
